Aromatherapy is a soothing, uplifting, and even healing form of therapy that you can easily incorporate into your day. Aromatherapy uses essential oils that are derived from flowers and plants with specific spiritual and medicinal benefits. They are diffused into the air to create an environment in which the oils and fragrance fill the atmosphere and can be breathed in so that the body can enjoy all of their benefits. Oils such as lavender, rosemary, and peppermint can be added to your regular beauty routine by applying the oils so that their aroma can reach you throughout the day.

The use of aromatherapy can be traced back thousands of years. There is no doubt that the practice has stood the test of time! That’s why cosmetic companies are increasingly using aromatherapy principles in their products and why they promote its use. In fact, aromatherapy is so effective, it has become the fastest growing form of complementary medicine in the United States.

There are many benefits of aromatherapy. They include its ability to help boost the immune system. It can work to relieve muscle pain and soreness. It can be used to treat insomnia. It has been found to relieve stress - in fact, a 2007 study cited in the Journal of Clinical Nursing found that when emergency nurses were given 15-minute music assisted aromatherapy massages over two 12-week periods, they experienced significant improvements in their stress levels! To those of us who know about and have experienced aromatherapy first hand, this doesn’t come as a surprise! We know just how helpful the use of aromatherapy is in keeping the body healthy and strong.
