Natural Mochila Bags
During our last visit to Colombia, our passion for learning more about indigenous tribal arts led us to the "La Guajira" region - a desert land at the northernmost territory of the South American continent, and home to the Wayuu tribe.
The mochila bags are made by the women's tribe who specialize in cotton knitting. The bags they create are stunning in their colorfulness, richness, and variety of patterns. These examples are cultural symbols that are woven into useful products. This is an ancient art that has been preserved through the centuries to this day.
Of course, we took this opportunity to work with the Wayuu to build a fair trade relationship so we can bring these amazing bags to you!
